Who We Are
L.R. Willson & Sons, Incorporated is a family owned and operated business that began as a one man welding shop in Annapolis, Maryland. Leonard R. Willson, the family patriarch, founded Willson’s Welding in 1951. Under the direction of Leonard’s daughter and two sons, the business was incorporated in 1971 and L.R. Willson & Sons was born. Since its humble beginnings, L.R. Willson & Sons has become a leading structural steel, precast, and tilt up erector serving the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan construction markets.
A Family Owned and Operated Business
To this day, L.R. Willson & Sons continues to be family owned and operated. They have a large and experienced staff. Over 250 men and women are currently employed. Three safety professionals are on staff to ensure a safe workplace. An extensive inventory of equipment is available to take on virtually any construction project on the East Coast. L.R. Willson & Sons is certified as an AISC Advance Steel Erector and PCI Certified Precast Erector. They are an active member of many industry associations which allow them to stay current with the most innovative technologies and work practices. L.R. Willson & Sons participates in the Structural Iron Working Apprenticeship Program, sponsored by the Metro-Washington Chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors.
